Your regional reps are all extremely successful personal trainers. They are united in their passion to build the personal training business in New Zealand with integrity and credibility which is why they undertake the unremunerated role of being a regional rep.

Born and raised in Dunedin, Mish’s interest in sport and exercise led her to become a World Ms Fitness Natural Olympia titleholder and feature in the book ‘Sunrise from the Summit’ which tells the stories of 18 inspiring New Zealand sportswomen. She has been a personal trainer for 15 years including a period working in the USA and acting as exclusive trainer to a member of the Sultan of Brunei’s family. Mish was judged Fitnesslife Personal Trainer of the Year in 2006, 2007 and 2008 and has been awarded numerous accolades for her work in creating innovative workplace and suburban programmes in Wellington.

daniel.jpgDaniel Sela – Otago region

Daniel is a Clinical Exercise Practitioner and has a degree in Rehabilitation and Prevention from the German Sport University, Cologne(equivalent to a Masters of Arts in Rehabilitation and Health Management). His experiences range from working as an exercise therapist in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation hospital in Germany to Personal Training in gyms in Germany and New Zealand. Daniel now runs Vitalis Health & Fitness Studio in Dunedin, where he looks after clients aged 12 to 76 with goals from weight loss and general fitness to pre or post surgical rehabilitation. Daniel has a background in Judo but also enjoys Mountain Biking, Rock Climbing, Nordic Walking, Tramping, Volleyball and lots more...

Jean is one of Christchurch’s best known and most experienced personal trainers. She is a leading group fitness instructor at Les Mills specialising in RPM and Pump and runs her own successful personal training business from her home. For many years she has been a judge for national body sculpting/building competitions and in 2011 won the special REPs award for contribution to professionalism and standards to add to her 2005 Personal Trainer of the year award. She is also mother to an energetic 9 year old which means she understands firsthand the challenges of juggling a family with the demands of a PT career.

Janet Perry - Auckland region

Janet has had the privilege of working in the ‘movement and sport’ industry for 34 years, in three different countries. Over this time she has worked with a huge range of clients from elite athletes competing in the Commonwealth Games, to those looking for general fitness and well being as well as amputees, those recovering from major injuries, stroke, diabetes and heart disease. She is a Pilates Instructor and a recognized Heart Moves trainer with the Australian Heart foundation.

Alison Storey – Walison.jpgaikato region

Alison has been a New Zealand Representative in Rhythmic Gymnastics and Rowing and is currently a competitive beach volleyball player on the NZ Pro Tour. She has a degree in Exercise Science and a Graduate Diploma in Business Studies and Sport Management and has managed a large Auckland facility. She set up in personal training in 1996 and established her current mobile PT business, Storey Sport, in 2004. She is heavily involved in community work in her region, and among other things, established the Waikato Charitable Trust in 2006. She has won the FitnessLife Magazine Personal Trainer of the Year award for two consecutive years; 2010 and 2011.

Hilary majored in exercise prescription and management whilst studying for her degree at Otago University. She then went onto a 5 year stint as a fitness instructor at Kawaroa Aquatic Centre at New Plymouth and worked for the Heart Foundation for 2 years before setting up her own personal training business; Body Evolution 4 years ago. She ran her business out of a small studio in New Plymouth but has recently been on maternity leave due to a small but not insignificant arrival in her life.

Lauren is a performance coach & wellness specialist with over 10 years experience in the fitness industry in a range of roles including aerobics instructing, managing, life coaching, running wellness programmes and training and mentoring personal trainers.  She runs her own company Pure Health & Wellbeing, based in Palmerston North, which delivers a range of wellness solutions to individuals and businesses alongside being a super mum to a young family.

VaughanVaughan Hope - Nelson/Marlborough region

Vaughan’s passion within the industry stems from both his experience with elite international, national and provincial athletes as well as the work he has done alongside some of New Zealand’s leading physiotherapists under a sports medicine/rehabilitation umbrella. He has served on exercise science degree monitoring panels and currently presents to various organisations on health and fitness matters as well as professional development issues to exercise consultants, personal trainers, and fitness managers. Vaughan has strong ties developing students’ skills via practical placements as part of their studies and guidance within the industry. He is currently managing a new fitness centre in Nelson which he had a hand in designing and developing.
